BROOKLINE, Mass.— The Northeastern women's soccer team opened conference play with a narrow 2-1 loss to the Elon Phoenix on Sunday afternoon at Parsons Field.

• The Huskies got things started when Ava Nace scored her first goal of the season in the 19th minute. Jessie Hunt played a short corner to Faith Rosenblatt who served it into Nace for the goal.
• Elon tied up the game at 1-1 before the end of the half.
• The Phoenix then took a 2-1 lead in the 59th minute to claim the eventual victory.
• Sophie Theresia Augustin made her first start in goal for the Huskies and finished her day with two saves.

Northeastern next travels to the reigning CAA Champion Towson Tigers on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 4 p.m.
