TOWSON, Md. — In its first CAA road game of the season, the Northeastern women's soccer team played out a 2-2 draw with the Towson Tigers on Thursday evening at Tiger Field.
- Towson grabbed the first lead in the sixth minute after a Tiger forward one touched a ball past the keeper to open the scoring.
- After multiple scoring opportunities, the Huskies converted their first goal in the 40th minute when junior Maggie Cochran received a goal kick in the Tiger half and assisted a perfectly placed ball to freshman Lughano Nyondo, who finessed a shot into the top left corner from 25 yards out. Both sides entered halftime tied at 1-1.
- Towson reclaimed its lead in the 57th minute with a low rolling shot from just outside the 18-yard box to make it 2-1.
- In the 87th minute, senior Katherine Marchessault sent a long-range free kick that landed in the middle of the Tiger box, where fifth year Jessie Hunt scored the equalizing goal from a one-time shot right above the penalty spot. The game would go on to end ina 2-2 scoreline.
Northeastern returns to Parsons Field for a CAA matchup against Monmouth on Sunday, Sept. 29th at 1 p.m.
