ORONO, Maine — The Northeastern men's hockey came up short, 3-1, against the No. 6 Maine Black Bears on Friday night.
- After a scoreless first period, the Black Bears opened scoring early in the middle frame with a shorthanded tally.
- Just after the five-minute mark in the second period, Northeastern would tie the game at 1-1. In the neutral zone, sophomore Eli Sebastian forced a turnover for a breakaway up the ice and a bury that threaded the Black Bears' defense for his first career goal.
- With 30 seconds left in the period, Maine would take back the lead, 2-1.
- Northeastern battled hard in the final period, but Maine added a late empty-net goal to take the 3-1 victory.
- Sophomore Cameron Whitehead finished with 29 saves.
- Junior Jackson Dorrington lead both teams with five blocks and junior Cam Lund had a game-high 10 shots.
