BOSTON— Sophomore goaltender Lisa Jönsson posted 18 saves to guide the No. 13 Northeastern women's hockey team to a 4-0 victory to open Hockey East play against Providence on Friday afternoon.

• A two-goal first period set the tone for the Huskies to get off on the right foot. Sophomore Éloïse Caron opened the scoring off a tic-tac-toe sequence from her linemates sophomore Morgan Jackson and junior Allie Lalonde. Freshman Stryker Zablocki then scored her first collegiate goal to double the Huskies's lead. Zablocki's tally was assisted by senior Lily Shannon and sophomore Tuva Kandell.
• Northeastern added on two more goals in the second from Shannon and senior Jules Constantinople. Shannon's first tally of the season was assisted by Zablocki and freshman Alessia Baechler. Baechler's assist marked her first career point.
• Constantinople scored on the power-play to bring the final to 4-0. Kandell posted her second assist of the night on the goal.
• Jönsson's shutout was her first of the season and eighth of her career.

Northeastern next faces RPI on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 2 p.m. in Matthews Arena.
