Men's Rowing Set For Head Of The Charles

BOSTON — The Northeastern men's rowing team is ready to take on the historic Head of the Charles Regatta on Saturday-Sunday, October 18-19, as the iconic race celebrates its 60th anniversary.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:

ALUMNI RELATIONS: The Northeastern University Rowing Alumni group will have four different men's boats competing in the annual event. On Saturday, Oct. 18, the alumni schedule consists of - 9:11 a.m. Men's Grand Master Eights (50+), 9:22 a.m. Men's Veteran Eights (60+, 70+), 10:56 a.m. Men's Alumni Eights, 11:44 a.m. Men's Alumni Fours.
LAST SEASON: At the 2024 Head of the Charles Regatta, the Huskies had four boats compete. Northeastern's championship A boat finished seventh collegiately with a time of 14:04.130 and were four seconds from being in the top three. The Huskies' championship B boat placed third in the JV with a time of 14:20.434 ahead of Yale, Syracuse, and Brown. In the club eights race Northeastern's A boat had the third fastest collegiate time of the event at 14:33.197. The club B boat was the second-best fourth eight entry with a time of 14:55.080.
AT THE HELM: Ahead of the season, head coach Alex Perkins announced that junior Edward Lopas and senior Julian Leonhardt were named the team's captains. The duo will be stepping into leadership positions for the first time for the Huskies.
