Teplow, Gialanella Garner CAA Postseason Honors

RICHMOND, Va.— Junior goalkeeper Eliza Teplow and freshman defender Ava Gialanella of the Northeastern women's soccer team both earned postseason honors from the CAA as announced on Wednesday. Teplow was named the CAA Goalkeeper of the Year and to the All-CAA First Team, while Gialanella earned All-Rookie Team accolades.
 
For the first time in program history, the Huskies have a CAA Goalkeeper of the Year winner in Teplow, who also earned All-CAA First Team accolades. Teplow is the Huskies first major award winner from the CAA since 2014.
 
The Wellesley, Massachusetts native posted three shutouts in league play this season, while posting eight or more saves in six of the Huskies' nine conference games. She led all conference goalkeepers with 6.06 saves per game, the 15th-best mark in the nation. Teplow posted a career-high 11 saves in two matches. She finished the season with a .829 save percentage, good for second in the CAA and a 1.25 goals against average.
 
Gialanella claimed All-Rookie Team honors in her first year with the Huskies. The defender started and played in all 16 games, while leading all Husky field players with 1422 minutes of action. She tallied one goal and one assist in her freshman campaign, both coming against Hampton to secure Northeastern a 2-1 victory. The Barnegat, New Jersey native was crucial to the Huskies' defensive efforts, helping the team to three shutouts in league play.
