Huskies Travel To Stony Brook With Playoffs On The Line

BOSTON -- With its final regular season match of 2025, the Northeastern University men's soccer team (4-6-4, 2-4-1 CAA) heads down to Long Island to play the Stony Brook Seawolves (6-4-5, 3-3-1 CAA) with a playoff spot on the line. Kickoff between the Huskies and the Seawolves is slated for 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 1st at LaValle Stadium, streaming on FloCollege.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:

  1. JUST WIN, BABY: With one game left on the conference schedule, the Huskies need a win and a Drexel draw or loss to secure the third and final playoff spot in the CAA North. With a win and a Drexel win, the Huskies would tie with Stony Brook for the third spot, awaiting tiebreaker scenarios to determine the third playoff team between the two of them.
  2. HUSKIES STAY HOT: Northeastern comes into the weekend unbeaten in its last four contests, with its most recent match a home draw with UAlbany at Parsons Field. In their last two CAA games, the Huskies are 1-0-1 with a win over Drexel and a draw against Monmouth.
  3. SCOUTING THE SEAWOLVES: It'll be the second time this season that Northeastern squares off with Stony Brook, with the first game of the season series taking place at Parsons Field on September 27th. The Seawolves took the away match 2-0, the first NU loss in the all-time series since the two teams played in the America East conference. Northeastern holds an all-time 7-4-2 record against the Seawolves, with their last win coming in 2022, with a pair of draws in 2023 and 2024.
