BROOKLINE, Mass. -- The Northeastern women's soccer team (1-6-5, 0-3-2 CAA) got an early goal from
Maggie Cochran in the first half, but were unable to hold on to beat the Towson Tigers (3-3-6, 1-1-3 CAA) as the two teams finished with a 1-1 draw.
- The Huskies struck first in the 26th minute, on a header from Maggie Cochran. After a throw in to Lughano Nyondo, Nyondo broke free on the wing and put in a perfect cross to Cochran. Cochran met the servie with her head, and despite an initial save from the goalkeeper the ball bobbled through for the score.
- Northeastern held that 1-0 lead through most of the remaining 64 minutes, but the Tigers were able to break through on their 10th on-target shot of the day, converting on a set piece play in the 88th minute.
- NU 'keeper Eliza Teplow was tested often but stood tall, making several acrobatic and quick-reflex saves, finishing with a season-high nine saves.
- Cochran's goal was her first of the season and the sixth of her career.
Northeastern plays host to its final home game of the season next Sunday, October 12th, at 1 p.m. at Parsons Field, before hitting the road for the final three games of the regular season. The Huskies host CAA-leading Stony Brook for Sunday's match, which will stream on FloCollege.
