THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- CLOSING TIME: The Huskies have won both games to start the season in come-from-behind fashion. NU has scored four of its six goals in the third period to start the year and is 2-0-0 when scoring in the third. Last season, Northeastern scored 45 of its 89 goals in the third period and were 20-4-1 when recording a goal in the final frame.
- THE FRIARS: Northeastern and Providence are meeting for the first time since the Hockey East Quarterfinal. Providence enters this matchup looking for its first win of the season after being swept by then-No. 8 Quinnipiac, 5-2 and 5-0.
- ENGINEERING A GOOD GAME: Northeastern and RPI are meeting for the first time since 2012, and the Huskies own a 3-2-0 overall edge in the all-time series.
