BOSTON— Freshman
Stryker Zablocki scored her first career hat trick to lead the No. 8/9 Northeastern women's hockey team to a 4-1 victory over the Merrimack Warriors on Friday night at Matthews Arena. Zablocki is the first Northeastern freshman since Kendall Coyne in 2011-12 to net a hat trick.

With the win, Northeastern improved to 8-0-0 in Matthews Arena and 6-0-0 in Hockey East play. The Huskies' six wins to open Hockey East play ties their most wins to start league play since a 6-0-0 start in 2015-16.
- Zablocki opened the scoring just under six minutes into the game with assists from senior Lily Shannon and freshman Alessia Baechler. Zablocki then doubled the Huskies' lead to 2-0 with a power-play tally at the 10:04 mark with helpers from seniors Jules Constantinople and Shannon.
- Merrimack scored to cut the deficit to 2-1 before the end of the first frame.
- In the second, Zablocki finished off her hat trick with a goal at the 5:15 mark. She had assists from junior Allie Lalonde and senior Kristina Allard.
- Junior Ellie Mabardy scored her first career goal to put NU ahead, 4-1. Mabardy's tally had assists from her linemates senior Mia Langlois and freshman Emy McDermid.
- The Huskies closed out the game in the third period, winning 4-1.
- Freshman netminder Renna Trembecky picked up her second win of the season and improves to 2-1-0 overall.Â
Northeastern will next travel to Merrimack on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. to close out the two-game series. The game will stream live on ESPN+.
