WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Northeastern field hockey team's (9-9, 3-2) season came to an end on Friday afternoon as the Huskies fell 3-2 to Drexel (12-7, 3-2) in the CAA Semifinal at So Sweet A Cat Field. Despite a furious fourth-quarter rally, Northeastern's comeback bid fell short as the Dragons advanced to the conference championship game.
- Natali Foster opened the scoring on a penalty corner opportunity, converting off assists from Valentine Van Hellem and Marti Sanabria to give the Dragons the early advantage.
- A quiet second quarter took place, remaining scoreless from both teams. Northeastern secured two shots, while the Dragons had none.
- Pili Lemoine doubled the Drexel lead with an unassisted strike early in the third period, capitalizing on offensive pressure after Northeastern's penalty corner attempts came up empty.
- In the fourth quarter, Lily Haag extended the Dragons' lead with an assist from Lemoine, putting Northeastern in a three-goal hole with less than seven minutes remaining in the contest.
- Just over a minute later, sophomore Camille Armaganian sparked the Huskies' comeback attempt by finishing on a penalty corner play with helpers from Alex Mega and Jess Garden. Northeastern immediately pulled goaltender Arabella Loveridge for an extra attacker to mount the comeback.
- Lilly Smith brought the Huskies within one goal just 38 seconds after Armaganian's tally, firing home an unassisted strike to make it a one-goal game and energize Northeastern's final push.
- With an empty net, freshman Lucy Walton made an impressive defensive save to keep the Dragons from adding any more goals.
Northeastern finishes the 2025 season with a 9-9 overall record in what was the program's fifth consecutive appearance in the CAA Semifinal.
