BOSTON— Despite two third period goals to send the game to overtime, the No. 13/12 Northeastern women's hockey team fell to the No. 14 Boston University Terriers, 3-2, on Tuesday night at Matthews Arena.
- The Terriers scored in the first frame at the 12:43 mark to take a 1-0 lead, with Kaleigh Quigg stuffing home the follow-through.
- With just over two minutes remaining in the second, Boston University extended its lead to 2-0 with a power-play goal.
- With under six minutes remaining in the game, sophomore Ella Blackmore put the Huskies on the board to cut the deficit to 2-1. Blackmore's tally was assisted by junior Jules Constantinople and senior Taze Thompson.
- One minute and 33 seconds after Blackmore's goal, sophomore Allie Lalonde tied the game at 2-2 with her third goal of the season. Lalonde's goal had helpers from freshman Tuva Kandell and sophomore Mia Langlois.
- With the game time at 2-2 to end regulation the game headed into overtime. With 30.6 seconds remaining, Alex Law scored the game-winner to deliver BU a 3-2 victory.
- Freshman netminder Lisa Jönsson posted 28 saves in the loss.
The Huskies next head to Maine for a lone contest on Friday, Feb. 7 at 6 p.m. in Orono.
