BOSTON, Mass. — The Northeastern men's hockey team fell, 7-1, in game two of their weekend series against No. 9 UConn on Saturday night.
- UConn scored two goals in the opening 14:36 of the game for an early 2-0 lead.
- With his third goal of the season, junior Joaquim Lemay put Northeastern on the board with 3:20 left in the first period. From inside the slot, junior Jack Williams passed the puck over to sophomore Dylan Hryckowian in the left dot. Hryckowian spun around for a feed to Lemay at the point for the power-play tally.
- UConn would add on their own power-play goal with 20 seconds to go in the opening frame. The second period would see two more buries from UConn for a 5-1 lead heading into the second intermission.
- The third period would include two final goals from UConn for a 7-1 final.
- Northeastern played two netminders against UConn. Freshman Quentin Sigurdson finished with nine saves in 19:48 minutes of action, while sophomore Cameron Whitehead totaled 13 saves in 40 minutes of action.
Northeastern close out the Hockey East regular season next week with a Thursday night matchup at Merrimack before coming home on Saturday as they host Providence for senior night.
