Lund, Hryckowian Carry Huskies To 2-1 Win Over Warriors

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. — With goals from junior Cam Lund and sophomore Dylan Hryckowian, the Northeastern men's hockey team topped the Merrimack Warriors, 2-1, on Friday night at Lawler Rink.
  • Northeastern took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission with a power-play goal at the 12:33 mark. Junior Cam Lund buried his fifth goal in as many games with a snipe off a pass from junior Joaquim Lemay. The secondary helper was credited to freshman Joe Connor.
  • Neither team was able to convert in the second period as the Huskies maintained their one-goal lead. Through 40 minutes of action, Merrimack was outshooting Northeastern, 19-17.
  • With 8:09 to play, Dylan Hryckowian doubled the Huskies lead, 2-0. Lund, with his second point of the night, kept puck possession in the corner for NU. Cleared out by Lund, Lemay found Hryckowian who walked into the slot and ripped the puck in for his 14th goal of the season. Lemay also picked up his second point with the helper.
  • Merrimack added an extra attacker with 3:22 to play and cut NU's lead to 2-1. With their goaltender still pulled for the reminder of the game, the Warriors were unable to tie the game, giving NU the victory.
  • Sophomore Cameron Whitehead finished with 28 saves through 59:32 minutes of action to pick up his 28th career win.
  • In addition to his two assists on the night, Lemay also tallied a career-high five blocked shots.
  • Senior Ryan McGuire and junior Jack Williams both finished with a game-high 17 faceoff wins.
The Huskies will play in their final regular season game this Saturday (March 8) at Matthews Arena at 7:15 p.m. Prior to puck drop, Northeastern will honor their 2025 graduating class.
