Huskies Earn Two Major Awards, 10 Regular Season Honors

BOSTON – The Costal Athletic Association has announced its year-end awards for baseball with Harrison Feinberg and Mike Glavine collecting major awards, highlighting 10 All-Conference honors for the No. 19 Northeastern Huskies.

For the second season in a row, and just the fourth time in program history, a Husky has been named the CAA Player of the Year, with Harrison Feinberg earning Co-Player of the Year honors for his efforts in another record-setting year for the program. Feinberg finished the regular season with a .372 batting average, with 12 doubles, two triples, 14 homers, and 57 RBIs. He led the team in RBIs (tied with Cam Maldonado), slugging percentage (.681) and steals (35 on 38 attempts). In CAA games, Feinberg was a dominant force, leading the league in conference batting average (.412), on base percentage (.496), RBIs (38), and steals (25). Defensively, Feinberg collected a pair of outfield assists and was flawless in left field with 96 putouts for 98 errorless chances.

For the fifth time in program history, and the third time in the last five seasons, Mike Glavine has earned CAA Coach of the Year honors. Glavine's Huskies set a program record with 45 overall wins, 25 conference wins, and the nation's longest winning streak at regular season's end, 24 straight dating back to mid-April. It marks the second season in program history that the Huskies have reached over 40 wins - both were in the last three seasons.

Along with Feinberg, five other Huskies were named to the All-CAA First Team – fellow outfielder Cam Maldonado followed Feinberg with a strong offensive line, slashing .375/.675/.486 with the team lead in home runs (15) and 57 RBIs. Maldonado, the former CAA Rookie of the Year, returns to the First Team for the first time since 2023. Shortstop Jack Goodman earns All-CAA designation for the second straight season, earning a spot on the First Team infield with a .333 batting average, 10 homers, and 49 RBIs, while fielding at a .962 clip at short.

The pitching staff saw three hurlers earn First Team honors, starters Aiven Cabral and Will Jones, and reliever Charlie Walker. The Friday and Saturday starters, Will Jones and Aiven Cabral were nearly untouchable on the mound, with Jones posting a 10-0 record with a 1.99 ERA, and Cabral a 10-2 record with a 2.45 ERA. Both pitchers tied the program record for single-season wins, and rank 4th and 21st respectively in the NCAA in ERA. Out of the bullpen, NU's most reliable arm was junior Charlie Walker, who earned First Team honors with a 1.27 ERA (only six earned runs) in 42.2 innings of work, with a 3-0 record. His six saves on the year led the team, and were the second-most in the conference. Each NU pitcher on the first team compiled a WHIP under 1.00 on the year.

Jones and Walker earn All-CAA honors for the first time in their careers, while Cabral makes his second career appearance on the First Team after a stellar rookie campaign in 2023. Six First Team selections is the most for Northeastern in program history.

Northeastern's lone representative on the second team was starting pitcher Jordan Gottesman, whose numbers rivaled his Friday and Saturday counterparts with a 8-2 record and 2.40 ERA (17th in the NCAA), and a .91 WHIP. In CAA play, Gottesman had a 7-1 record in seven starts, with a 2.13 ERA. The Endicott transfer led all Northeastern pitchers with 79.

Earning honorable mention status were second baseman Carmelo Musacchia and reliever Brett Dunham. Musacchia's .305 batting average and 28 RBIs provided Northeastern a reliable bat in the middle of the order, while Dunham's 1.78 ERA, 0.71 WHIP, and 2-0 record, and three saves out of the bullpen gave the Huskies another leverage arm in high-pressure situations.

The No. 19 Huskies are the number one seed in the CAA tournament, and play their first tournament game this Thursday, May 22 at 3 p.m. against the lowest remaining seed from Wednesday's games. All games in the CAA tournament will stream on FloCollege.
