BROOKLINE, Mass.— The Northeastern women's soccer team fell in a tightly contested 1-0 match against the Rhode Island Rams on Thursday afternoon at Parsons Field.

• Rhode Island capitalized early and took a 1-0 lead just over 90 seconds into the game. Neither side would be able to break through the defenses following the Rams' early tally.
• Junior goalkeeper Eliza Teplow finished with seven saves, one off her career-high.
• Five Huskies including senior Maggie Cochran, junior Maddie Aughe, senior Ava Nace, freshman Hayden Sumner and freshman Ava Gialanella put in full 90-minute efforts.

The Huskies will next host Providence on Sunday, Aug. 24 at 6 p.m. for their senior game and student "home opener." A bus will leave from Forsyth St. at 5:30 p.m. and will return following the conclusion of the game.
