BROOKLINE, Mass.— The Northeastern women's soccer team fell 1-0 to the UNCW Seahawks on Thursday evening to open conference play.

• The first half was even through 44 minutes of play until the Huskies were whistled for a foul in the box and the Seahawks converted from the penalty spot to take a 1-0 lead.
• The Huskies kept up pressure in the second half, but were unable to find the equalizer. The Seahawks' penalty kick in the 44th minute served as the game-winner.
• Junior goalkeeper Eliza Teplow finished with eight saves. Senior Maggie Cochran led all Huskies with two shots on goal.

Northeastern will next host Charleston on Sunday, Sept. 21 at 12 p.m. for the Huskies' Community and Alumni Game.
