BOSTON— The No. 7 Northeastern women's hockey team dropped 2-1 in a hard-fought battle to Boston University in the 47
th Dunkin' Women's Beanpot Semifinals.
- Just 4:29 into the game, Boston University struck first to take a 1-0 lead. Senior Lily Shannon evened the score at 1-1 just over six minutes later. Shannon's team-leading 15th goal of the season was assisted by senior Kristina Allard and sophomore Éloïse Caron.
- After the deadlock held through the second and third periods, the game went to overtime. BU capitalized on a late power play, scoring the game-winner with 2:00 remaining.
- Through 63 minutes of action, netminder Lisa Jönsson finished with 32 saves. Both Caron and junior Allie Lalonde recorded a game-high seven shots.
The Huskies will face New Hampshire on Saturday, Jan. 17 at Whittemore Center at 6 p.m.
