BOSTON — The Northeastern men's and women's track and field teams continue their season with a trip to Harvard for the Beantown Challenge Invitational, held at the Gordon Indoor Track this Saturday at 11:30 a.m. The event can be streamed on ESPN.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- PICKING UP WHERE WE LEFT OFF – The Huskies return to the track after a month-long break. The start of the indoor season saw many new All-Time Top 10 records as well as a CAA award, and a school record. Freshman Iolo Grant recorded a 7.91 time in the 60m Hurdles placing him at second all-time and sophomore Taeshawn Berry recorded a 6.85 in the 60m dash ranking him tied for eighth all-time. Senior Leila Curtis threw a 15.24m in the shot put, giving them a fourth all-time rank and earning them self CAA Field Athlete of the Week. Lastly, freshman Lola Satre Morales broke the school record in the 600m with a time of 1:32.10.
- CROSS TOWN SHOWDOWN – Northeastern will travel to Cambridge where 64 Huskies will compete. The meet will begin on the field side, starting with weight throws and followed by shot put, long jump pole vault and high jump. The track events will begin at 1:00 p.m, beginning with the 60mH trials, followed by the mile, 60mH finals, 600m, 500m, 300m, 1000m, 3000m and the mile relay.
- LOOKING AHEAD — After the Beantown Challenge Invitational, the Huskies look to stay local. Northeastern will compete in two more Boston competitions, the BU Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invitational and the BU John Thomas Terrier Classic, before the ECAC/IC4A meet.
Northeastern will compete on Saturday, Jan. 24 at the BU Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invitational held at the BU Track and Tennis Center.
