NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Northeastern men's hockey team dropped a 4-1 decision in game one against Merrimack on Thursday evening at Lawler Arena.
The Huskies found themselves trailing 3-0 after the first period as Merrimack built an early lead that they carried into the intermission.
Northeastern cut into the deficit with 5:43 remaining in the second period. On the power play, junior
Dylan Hryckowian sent a backhand pass from the point to sophomore
Joe Connor, who slid a feed into the slot for freshman
Giacomo Martino to bury his eighth goal of the season.
Merrimack added an insurance goal late in the third period to seal the 4-1 final.
In net, sophomore goaltender
Lawton Zacher finished with 25 saves, while Hryckowian, Martino and senior
Vinny Borgesi each recorded three blocked shots.
Northeastern will finish their road series with Merrimack tomorrow night at Lawler Arena with puck drop set for 7 p.m.
