NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The No. 6 Northeastern women's hockey team opened 2026 with a 3-0 setback at No. 14/13 Yale on Tuesday night at Ingalls Rink. Despite a strong third-period push, the Huskies fell to 15-5-0 overall while the Bulldogs improved to 12-7-0.
- Yale built an early 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by Naomi Boucher and Emma McGowan before adding a third-period insurance marker from Jordan Ray.
- Northeastern came out with energy in the final frame, outshooting Yale 12-6 and generating numerous quality scoring chances, but Yale netminder Samson Frey turned aside all 22 Husky attempts on the night. This marked NU's first time being shutout all season.
- Sophomore netminder Lisa Jönsson made 22 saves in net, including nine stops in a busy second period to keep Northeastern within striking distance heading into the third.
- Senior Jules Constantinople and freshman Stryker Zablocki each registered four shots on goal to lead the Huskies' offensive attack.
- Senior Lily Brazis won 7-of-10 faceoffs (70.0%) to pace Northeastern in the circle.
