Zablocki’s Hat Trick Sends No. 6 NU Past PC

PROVIDENCE, R.I.— For the second time in her career, freshman Stryker Zablocki scored a hat trick to deliver the No. 6 Northeastern women's hockey team a 5-2 victory at Providence College on Friday afternoon.

Zablocki posted her first four-point outing of her collegiate career in the win. Senior Jules Constantinople and junior Rylie Jones each tallied two assists for multi-point games.
  • Providence opened the scoring at 12:57 of the first period to take a 1-0 lead into the second period.
  • The Huskies responded in the second period with four goals to seize control. It marked the first time Northeastern scored four goals in a period since Nov. 10, 2023 also against the Friars.
  • Zablocki tied the game at 5:51 on the power play, converting feeds from Jones and Constantinople. Zablocki struck again at 11:54, taking a pass from senior Lily Shannon and firing it past Providence goaltender Hope Walinski to give Northeastern its first lead. Senior Holly Abela collected the secondary assist.
  • Sophomore Éloïse Caron extended the advantage to 3-1 at 14:09 with helpers from Zablocki and freshman Alessia Baechler.
  • Providence cut the deficit to 3-2 when Jessie Pellerin scored at 18:04, but junior Allie Lalonde answered just 76 seconds later off a feed from sophomore Morgan Jackson to restore the two-goal cushion heading into the third period.
  • Zablocki completed her hat trick at 5:53 of the final frame, capitalizing on another Northeastern power play with assists from Constantinople and Jones to bring the final score to 5-2.
  • Sophomore netminder Lisa Jönsson posted a season-high 36 saves in the victory.
The Huskies will next take on Boston University on Tuesday, Jan. 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Dunkin' Women's Beanpot Semifinals.
