WILMINGTON, N.C. — Northeastern volleyball dropped Saturday's match at UNCW, falling 3-1 (25-19, 19-25, 25-18, 25-16) at Hanover Hall to close out the weekend series. The Huskies fall to 4-10 overall and 2-4 in conference play, while the Seahawks move to 8-8 and 3-1.
Abbie Callaway led Northeastern's offense with 10 kills. Beatrice Gennari was nearly unstoppable at the net, going 8-for-8 with no attack errors for a perfect 1.000 hitting percentage and a team-best 11.5 points. Bryce Leatherwood chipped in five kills on a .333 clip, and Emma Rowell and Valentina Meirelles each added to the Huskies' attack with six and four kills, respectively.
Arina Sosinovica led all Huskies with 23 assists, and libero Iris Canko paced the back row with a team-high 10 digs.
Northeastern returns home to open a two-game series against Elon, beginning Friday, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. in the Cabot Center.
