PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The Northeastern men's hockey team split their weekend series with No. 7/6 Providence, falling 4-1 to the Friars on Saturday evening.
Northeastern opened the scoring with 1:30 remaining in the first period, notching their third power-play goal of the weekend. Strong work along the boards from freshman

Vinny Borgesi, who stepped into the slot and buried his fifth goal of the season.
Providence answered with the lone goal of the second period, knotting the game at 1-1 with 1:24 left in the frame.
The Friars scored three unanswered goals in the third period, including a pair of empty-netters, to secure the 4-1 victory.

Lawton Zacher played all but 18 seconds of the contest, making a season-high 41 saves.
The Huskies head out for another two-game road series next weekend, traveling to UMass Lowell on Friday (Feb. 20, 7:15 p.m.) and Saturday (Feb. 21, 6:05 p.m.).
