BOSTON— Northeastern swim and dive head coach
Roy Coates announced the end-of-season award winners as well as named the captains for the 2026-27 season,
May Bradburn,
Bella Busconi and
Mary Nordmann.
At the annual season ending banquet, six awards were given out to members of the team. Senior
Anelise Kim was named the Diver of the Year for the Huskies. The award is presented to a diver in recognition of outstanding performance, dedication and contribution to the diving program. The team members and coaches vote to determine the winner. Kim earned bronze in both the 1M and 3M at the CAA Championships, as well as qualified for the NCAA Zones.
Freshman
Alex Fuller was named the team's MVP, the award is given to the individual who in the opinion of the coaching staff made the most significant impact on the competitiveness of the team. The newcomer was apart of all three medal winning relay teams at the CAA Championships.
Fuller was also awarded Rookie of the Year. The award recognizes a first-year team member who in the opinion of the team and coaching staff performed at the highest level. Alex championed eight individual events this season, as well as placed fourth in the 100 Fly, sixth in the 100 Free and tenth in the 50 Free at the CAA Championships.
The Swimmer of the Year was awarded to
Mary Nordmann. This award is presented to a swimmer in recognition of outstanding performance, dedication and contribution to the swimming program. The team members and coaches vote to determine the winner. The junior was a part of all three medal winning relay teams at the CAA Championships, as well as captured gold in the 200 Fly, the first Husky to ever do so.
In addition, Nordmann was given the Janet Swanson Award. Awarded to the team member who has contributed the most to the development of the Northeastern swimming and diving program, though not only for her performance in the pool, but also through her day-to-day dedication to her teammates and the team concept as an exceptional leader.
The Coaches' Award is presented to the member of the team who has demonstrated the qualities of dedication, personal self-improvement, and sportsmanship. This student-athlete has shown true determination and hard work earning the respect of her contemporaries and proving her worth in many ways. The coaching staff determines the recipient of this prestigious award. This year's recipient is graduate student
Elisabeth Bendall.
As the season comes to a close, Head Coach
Roy Coates announced the new captains for the upcoming season, May, Bella and Mary.
Coates explained, "Bella, May and Mary have consistently demonstrated leadership, accountability, and a deep commitment to our team culture in and out of the pool. They've earned the respect of their teammates and coaches through their work ethic and the way they represent our program every day. I'm confident they will lead us with integrity, energy, and purpose as we pursue our goals this season."
The trio played a key role in contributing to Northeastern's successful 2025-26 season and they look to continue to do the same in 2026-27.
