WILMINGTON, N.C. -- The Hofstra Pride (22-27) held the Northeastern Huskies (34-20) to just two hits in a 6-0 shutout on Thursday night at Brooks Field, dropping the second-seeded Huskies into the elimination bracket of the 2026 CAA Baseball Championship.

The Pride collected 12 hits on the night and extended their postseason hex over Northeastern to 4-0 all-time in the CAA Tournament.
- Hofstra struck for three runs in the first inning on a triple, an RBI single, a walk, a hit-by-pitch, and a two-RBI single to take the early 3-0 lead. Robbie O'Connor escaped the inning with a groundout to limit the damage.
- The Pride added another in the second on a double and an RBI single to push the lead to 4-0.
- Starter Robbie O'Connor settled in after the rough start, retiring the side in order in the third and fourth innings and striking out two in the fourth. He finished the night with 4.0 innings pitched, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits with two walks and three strikeouts.
- David McSweeney took over in the fifth and worked 4.2 innings in relief, allowing just one run on five hits while striking out two. Tom Mahoney finished the game with a scoreless 0.1 innings.
- Northeastern's best scoring opportunity came in the third inning, when the Huskies loaded the bases on a single, walk, and hit-by-pitch but were unable to capitalize on the free bases.
- The Huskies again put runners on in the eighth, as Harmony walked and Feinberg singled up the middle, but a strikeout and an infield grounder ended the rally.
- In the ninth, Carmelo Musacchia drew a walk and AJ Aschettino followed with a walk to put the tying run on base, but Hofstra was once again able to quell the rally with a strikeout and a double play ball.
- Feinberg and Bentley accounted for Northeastern's only two hits on the night. Harmony drew three walks in his four plate appearances.
- Hofstra's pitching staff held the Huskies without an extra-base hit for the first time since the April 11th shutout loss to Maine.
- The loss drops Northeastern into the elimination bracket of the double-elimination tournament, and to a 0-4 all-time record against Hofstra in the tournament.
Northeastern will face the winner of Friday's losers' bracket game, either the third-seeded Monmouth Hawks or sixth-seeded UNCW Seahawks, in an elimination contest on Friday, May 22nd at 3 p.m. at Brooks Field. That game can be seen on FloCollege.
