Women's Rowing Earns Multiple CRCA Postseason Honors

BOSTON, Mass. -- The Northeastern women's rowing team earned several postseason honors from the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA), highlighted by an All-American nod, a fourth-straight Staff of the Year award and 11 Scholar-Athlete honorees.

Senior Heather Taylor earned CRCA Division I All-American Honorable Mention for the second-consecutive year. The Edinburgh, Scotland native rowed in NU's first varsity eight, helping the Huskies claim their 12th-straight CAA title and earn a CAA Boat of the Week honor. At the national championship regatta — Northeastern's 12th-straight NCAA appearance — Taylor helped the first varsity eight clock a time of 6:20.142 in the C Final, a program-best time at NCAAs.

For the fourth-straight season, the Northeastern staff earned CRCA Division I Region 2 Staff of the Year honors, which covers the CAA, Patriot League and MAAC — the largest of the five CRCA regions. The staff consists of associate head coach Andrew Wieler, assistant coach/recruiting coordinator Ariel Handler, rigger Richard Schroeder and athletic trainer Emily Granger.

Additionally, 11 Huskies earned CRCA Scholar-Athlete honors: Stina Dewes, Julia Halbriech, Dylan Halky, Isabella Hsia, Isabella Leao, Erin Murphy, Liv Oyen, Llian Riedel, Jorja Shemilt, Silje Strøm and Grace Theobald. To qualify, student-athletes must be in at least their second year of eligibility, hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher and have competed in a minimum of 75% of spring races.
