Huskies Ready To Open 2026 Season

BOSTON— The Northeastern women's soccer team is set to open its 2026 campaign with two away games, beginning at crosstown rival Boston University on Thursday, Aug. 13 at 6 p.m. The Huskies will then travel to Merrimack on Sunday, Aug. 16 for a 1 p.m. kick off.
Both games will stream live on ESPN+.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. THE TEPLOW SHOW: Senior Eliza Teplow is the reigning CAA Goalkeeper of the Year. She earned preseason All-CAA honors and was named a Goalkeeper to Watch by United Soccer Coaches. A captain for the second year in a row, Teplow owned a .829 save percentage and 1.25 goals against average in 2025. She'll anchor the Huskies' defensive unit that had three shutouts last season.
  2. TALKING TERRIERS: Northeastern and BU are set to meet for the first time since 2024 after last year's contest was cancelled due to weather. The Huskies own a 7-14-3 overall record against the Terriers. The past two meetings have ended in 1-1 draws. Boston University was picked to finish second in the Patriot League and had Helene Tyburczy named 2026 Patriot League Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.
  3. WARRIORS COME OUT AND PLAY: Sunday's contest marks the first-ever meeting between Merrimack and Northeastern. Merrimack will open its season against Vermont before taking on the Huskies in the Warriors' home opener. The Warriors are led by head coach Gabe Mejail who will be behind the bench for his 43rd season at Merrimack.
The Huskies will wrap up a three-game road stint at Rhode Island on Thursday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m.
