BROOKLINE, Mass. - Northeastern men's soccer hosted its' home opener against cross-town rival Boston University on Friday, outlasting the Terriers 2-1. With the win, Northeastern moves 2-1-0 on the season. 

• The Huskies opened the goal scoring in the 32nd minute with sophomore Will Schmidt putting a shot past the BU goalkeeper in the lower left corner. A BU corner in the 45th minute set all things even at 1-1.  

• It was in the 78th minute where Schmidt fed freshman Tate Duax a pass past the defender where he snuck it by the goalie's right-hand side to put the Huskies up 2-1. Duax's goal was the eventual game winner.  

• Junior goalkeeper Brady Elmblad held it down in net with nine saves. 

The Huskies will travel to Loudonville, New York to face Siena College on Monday, Aug. 31, at 5 p.m.
