BOSTON – Northeastern men's basketball head coach Bill Coen announced Wednesday that Rashad King has committed to return to the Huskies for his final season of eligibility.
 
"We're thrilled to welcome Rashad back to Northeastern," Coen said. "He is a player who brings instant credibility to our locker room, knows our systems, and will be an excellent mentor for our younger players. We're excited to see him build on the foundation that he established over his three previous seasons with us and can't wait to see him back in the red and black." 
 
King played three seasons on Huntington Avenue from 2022 to 2025, appearing in 92 games (63 starts). The Evans, Ga. native averaged 10.1 points per game and shot 43% from the field while with the Huskies along with averaging 2.4 assists per game and shooting 83% from the line.
 
"I'm blessed to have the opportunity to return to Northeastern," King said. "I'm excited to be home and to work with Coach Coen, the staff and my teammates this season. Let's get to work!"
 
King completed one of the best individual seasons for Northeastern in recent memory as a junior in 2024-25, becoming the 14th player in team history and first since 2021 (Tyson Walker) to be named to the All-CAA First Team. He led the team in scoring (18.5ppg), assists (106) and steals (46) while logging some of the most minutes in the nation at 36.5 per game (17th in the NCAA).
 
King reached 20 points in a game 14 times that season, along with three double-doubles, including a career-high 32 points vs. Hampton on Feb. 8, and was the CAA Player of the Week three times, the most for a Husky since Walker in 2021. He was also the first Husky since Jordan Roland (2019-20) to score 500 points in a season, and just the sixth Northeastern player since 2000 to record 500 points and 100 assists in the same year.
 
After the 2024-25 campaign, King transferred to LSU, where he appeared in 32 games (nine starts), averaging 5.8 points per game and shooting 39% from the field in 18.7 minutes per game.
