Women’s Soccer Opens CAA Play At Drexel

BOSTON— The Northeastern women's soccer team is set to begin conference play at Drexel on Sunday, Sept. 20 at 1 p.m. The game will stream live on FloCollege.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. THE CAA BREAKDOWN: This marks the second season the CAA has been split into North and South divisions. The Huskies play in the North division alongside Drexel, Hofstra, Monmouth, Stony Brook and Towson. During the regular season, teams will play nine conference matches, which include one match against each team in their division and four matches against teams from the other division. All matches will count in the standings. The top three teams in each division will qualify for the CAA Championship, which will be played over two weekends.
  2. SCOUTING THE DRAGONS: Drexel will also be opening up conference play against NU. The Dragons sit at 4-3-1 on the season and most recently fell to Delaware, 3-1. The Huskies own a 13-7-9 record overall against Drexel and will be looking for their first win against the Dragons since 2024. In last year's meeting, the two sides tied 0-0 with senior goalkeeper Eliza Teplow posting four saves.
  3. LAST TIME OUT: Northeastern is looking to break a four-game skid headed into the Drexel game. Teplow has been averaging 5.5 saves per game, the highest mark among all CAA keepers. The Huskies are also looking for their first CAA opening win since the 2023 season.
The Huskies will continue a three-game road swing at Charleston on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m.
