Schmidt’s Late Goal Puts Huskies Past Hawks 1-0

BROOKLINE, Mass. - The Northeastern men's soccer team hosted Monmouth University for a conference match on Saturday, winning 1-0 for their first conference win of the season. 

The Huskies move to 4-2-2 on the season and 1-1-1 in conference play.  

  • The winning goal for the Huskies came in the 83rd minute from sophomore Will Schmidt. Off a Kortay Koç corner, Schmidt sniped a shot in the top left corner of the net to put the Huskies ahead. 

  • Junior goalkeeper Brady Elmblad stopped four shots tonight, picking up his second shutout of the season.  

  • Koç's assist to Schmidt's goal was his third assist of the season and 13th point of the season. 

The Huskies will now travel to Hempstead, N.Y. to take on No. 13 Hofstra on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m.
