HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - The Northeastern men's soccer team played Hofstra on Monday for an early week conference match. The Pride outlasted the Huskies 4-1. 

The Huskies loss moves them to 1-2-1 in conference play and 4-3-2 overall this season. 

• Hofstra got the scoring started with an early first half goal in the second minute. A second goal in the 29th minute would be taken off the board due to a yellow card. The Pride would score again in the 36th minute to go up 2-0. Hofstra's two second half goals came in the 55th and 63rd minute. 

• Freshman Tate Duax lone goal for the Huskies happened at the 68th minute mark. Duax was fed a pass from junior Ethan Kang up the right sideline and would put it through the goalie's legs to cut the lead 4-1. This was Duax's fourth goal and 16th point of the year, now leading the team in points.  

• Kang's assist on Duax goal was his fourth assist and eighth point of the season. Kang is now second to Duax for assists on the team. 

The Huskies will return to action next Saturday, Oct. 3, for its second game of the year against Drexel at 6 p.m. Followed by a non-conference match against Harvard on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 6 p.m.
