PHILADELPHIA— Freshman
Lula Arcila scored twice as the Northeastern women's soccer team opened CAA play with a 3-0 victory at Drexel on Sunday afternoon. With the win, Northeastern moves to 3-4-2 overall and 1-0-0 in CAA action.
- Junior Claire Murray put the Huskies ahead 1-0 in the 23rd minute, scoring off a free kick from just outside the box. NU would maintain its 1-0 lead headed into halftime.
- In the second half, Arcila doubled the Huskies' lead with her first career goal in the 65th minute after finishing a cross from fellow freshman Bridget Durkin.
- Arcila then scored her second of the game in the 83rd minute to bring the final score to 3-0 for the Huskies.
- Senior goalkeeper Eliza Teplow posted five saves in her fifth shutout of the season.
- This win marks Northeastern's first CAA opening day victory since the 2023 season.
The Huskies will continue their road swing at Charleston on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m.
