Biography

2013: 2013 Second Team All-CAA honoree … Tossed an NU record 104.1 innings as a senior … Struck out 93 batters in 2013, fifth-most all-time at Northeastern … Picked up the win in the Sunday game at Houston (2/17), tossing three strikeouts in 6.0 innings, allowing just one earned run ... Got the start in game two of the Saturday doubleheader at UTA, going 4.2 innings, striking out four, but giving up 10 hits and five earned runs in the 6-0 loss (2/23) … Picked up his second win of the season, going 7.1 innings against Valpo, allowing just one run (earned) on six hits, striking out five in the 3-1 win (3/3) … Earned his third win of the year after completing 7.2 innings in Sunday's 2-1 win over Old Dominion (3/10); gave up just five hits and one earned, while striking out two batters … Earned a no decision in the 3-2 loss to Mason (3/17), pitching 6.2 innings with seven strikeouts and two earned runs … Went 8.0 innings, striking out nine, giving up just one run in the tough 1-0 loss to W&M (3/24) … Tossed a complete-game shutout gem over James Madison, fanning 11 batters in 9.0 innings, allowing just four hits, earning him CAA Pitcher of the Week honors (3/31) … Gave up just one run to Hofstra in 8.2 innings of work, fanning six in the win (4/7) … Earned a no-decision after 8.0 innings at Richmond, giving up two runs on seven hits, striking six out (4/14) … Pitched a complete game vs. Georgia St., but picked up the loss in the 2-1 defeat; gave up two runs on six hits, striking out 10 batters along the way (4/28) … Went 5.2 innings at UNCW, giving up a season-high 10 hits, allowing six runs (five earned) with six K's (5/5) … Went 8.0 strong innings to pick up his sixth win of the year over Delaware, striking out nine batters, issuing four walks in a four-hit, three run outing (5/12) … Pitched a sterling complete game in the regular season finale to earn the win and secure NU's spot in the CAA Tournament; gave up just three runs on nine hits over nine innings, while tying a season high with 11 strikeouts (5/18) … Earned a no-decision in the Tournament win over Delaware, giving up five runs on nine hits to the Blue Hens; struck out four in the process (5/23).

2012: Went eight innings, surrendering just a single run on four hits to get his second career win in game two of a doubleheader with Jacksonville (Feb. 25)…made his second start of the season against St. Bonaventure (March 5), going 6 innings and allowing two earned runs on eight hits with four strikeouts…picked up a win against William and Mary (March 11), going seven innings and surrendering just one earned run on three hits with seven strikeouts…came within an out from recording a complete game, pitching eight and two-thirds innings, allowing three earned runs on 10 hits with eight strikeouts at Georgia State (March 18)…continued his dominance, pitching seven shutout innings at Richmond (March 25) and struck out eight to get his fourth win of the season…named Pitcher of the Week by the CAA (March 26)…bounced back after a rough outing, pitching seven innings and allowing just three runs on 11 hits with five strikeouts at James Madison (April 7)…pitched five innings and allowed five runs on seven hits with five strikeouts in a loss to George Mason (April 14)…pitched a one-hit complete game shutout and faced the minimum 27 batters in a Huskies victory over Towson while striking out nine (April 29)…named Pitcher of the Week by the CAA for the second time (April 30)…named National Player of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (May 1)…surrendered five runs over 5.1 innings on eight hits in a loss at Hofstra on May 6...dominated Old Dominion over eight innings on May 13, yielding four hits and one run with no walks and nine strikeouts...finished the year with 2.2 innings at Delaware on May 19, allowing six runs on seven hits.

2011: Tossed 1-2/3 shutout innings in a 5-0 loss to James Madison (May 20)...started and earned a no-decision in a 5-2 loss to Maine, throwing four innings of one run ball (May 10)...struck out one in an inning of work in a 12-6 loss to George Mason (May 7)...fired 2/3 of an inning in  5-4 loss to William & Mary (May 1)...fired a perfect 3.0 innings in a 4-2 loss to Massachusetts in the Beanpot (April 26)...hurled a shutout inning in a 6-1 loss to Boston College in the opening round of the Beanpot (April 20)...pitched 2.0 shutout innings in NU's 7-6 loss to Rhode Island (April 6)...struck out one in 2/3 innings in NU's 10-3 loss to ODU (March 19)...allowed zero runs in 2/3 of an inning in a 6-4 loss to Brown (March 15)...pitched a shutout inning in a 11-2 loss to UNC Wilmington (March 13)...hurled a scoreless seventh inning in a 5-2 loss to the Seahawks (March 12)...earned the win in Northeastern's 11-8 win over Western Michigan, pitching 4-2/3 innings, allowing zero earned runs while fanning six (March 5)...surrendered eight runs in 2-2/3 innings in a 14-1 loss to Florida Atlantic (March 1).

2010: On the mound, made 11 appearances and four starts,  striking out 24 in 36 innings and finishing with a 7.50 ERA...also played offense for 12 games, going 6-for-26 (.231) with three doubles and four RBI...tossed 1-1/3 innings out of the bullpen, getting the win as the Huskies earned a 4-2 victory over Rhode Island (May 19)...pitched a perfect inning of relief as NU fell to Georgia State, 10-4 (May 16)...ripped two doubles and scored a run in NU's 6-4 loss to William & Mary (May 2)...tossed five innings in relief, allowing just three runs in the Huskies' 9-3 loss to BC in the Beanpot final (April 21)...threw 4 1/3 innings in relief, allowing just three hits and no runs in NU's 6-1 loss to Hofstra (April 4)...notched eight strikeouts in six innings, and picked up the 13-1 win over St. Bonaventure, in his collegiate debut on the mound (Feb 27).

High School: Played three years of varsity baseball at St. Joseph Regional High School in Montvale, N.J. for coach Frank Salvano…was named 1st-team All-County and All-League…helped his team win the 2009 Bergan County Championship.

Personal: Born July 4, 1991 to Jim and Patti Ferguson…majoring in Criminal Justice… hopes to play baseball professionally…Class of 2014.
