2009-10: Stepped in as the first true freshman to start in net for the Huskies since Brad Thiessen in the 2006-07 opener…became the first rookie to win 15 games since Gary Thornton during the 1964-65 season when the Huskies went 18-10-0 (Thornton was a sophomore, but a first-year player because freshmen were not allowed to play varsity athletics in that time)…started 31 games and posted a winning record of 15-14-2 (51.6 winning percentage)…totaled 905 saves, marking the third most of any freshmen in the nation…save percentage of .913 stood as the third-best mark in Hockey East…2.83 goals against average stacked up fifth against other league backstoppers…recorded three shutouts on the season, marking the second-most shutouts by a goaltender in Hockey East…named to the Hockey East Pro Ambitions All-Rookie team…runner-up for the Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Year award…recorded his first-career victory for Northeastern by stopping 34-of-37 shots at Colorado College on Oct. 10…won his second-consecutive game by making 27 stops in his first-career home game against Bentley on Oct. 16… became the Huskies’ second-ever netminder to shut out Boston University on Nov. 6 with a career-best 43-save performance…named the Pro Ambitions Hockey East Rookie of the Week on Nov. 9 for ending BU’s five-year run of not being shutout on the road…earned his second-career shutout by stopping all 32 shots in a 7-0 victory at Dartmouth on Jan. 2…steered aside 28-of-29 shots to help the Huskies earn the Ledyard National Bank Championship against UMass Lowell on Jan. 3…named the Ledyard National Bank Tournament MVP, combining for 60 saves and surrendering just one goal in 120 minutes…tapped as the Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week on Jan. 5 after his performance at Dartmouth…pushed his win total to double digits, earning his 10th victory by making 23 saves against UMass Lowell on Jan. 29…turned away 37-of-38 Warriors’ attempts in his 11th-career victory at Merrimack on Feb. 5…keyed the defense with 27 saves to earn his first Beanpot Tournament victory against Harvard in the consolation round on Feb. 8…registered his first-career point at Massachusetts on Feb. 12 on David Strathman’s game-winning goal and notched his third shutout, making 31 saves…reached his fourth-consecutive victory by turning away 34 shots in a 6-3 victory against Massachusetts on Feb. 13…earned Pure Hockey Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors on Feb. 15 for his combined 65-save total against Massachusetts, marking his third Hockey East award of the season…strung together his fifth-consecutive win by turning away 38 shots in a 3-2 win against Boston College…recorded his second point of the season against Boston College on Feb. 19.
