NAMED SCHOLARSHIPS
"Northeastern has played an important role in our family. My father, Bo Averill, was a student athlete in the 50's, all of his 5 children (Ruth, Bob, Jim, Jennifer and Will) attended Northeastern and currently granddaughter, Jillian Averill, is enrolled in the school. The University has given so much to our family that it was important for us to give back."

The generosity of alumni, friends and their families through time has led to the creation of 24 endowed athletics scholarship funds. These endowments annually provide funds which enhance the University’s overall allotment of athletic scholarships and support a student-athlete that meets the criteria set forth by the endowing individual(s).
This year, the Huskies will offer the Martin J. Damian Memorial Scholarship after more than $100,000 was raised over the course of 2008-09 to honor the University’s longtime Bursar and friend. The Averill Family Hockey Scholarship will also be awarded in 2008-09 for the first time.
