Adam Ottavino became the second-highest Major League draft pick in the history of Northeastern when he was selected 30th overall by the St. Louis Cardinals on June 6, 2006. Northeastern’s highest-ever was Carlos Pena, who was selected 10th overall by the Texas Rangers in 1998.

2005: Was the ace of the Northeastern pitching staff, going 8-4 with a 3.09 ERA...named America East Pitcher of the Year after sporting a 6-0 record with a 1.96 ERA in seven conference starts...also named first team All-Conference...broke the school record for most strikeouts in a season, fanning 106...also pitched a school-record 96 innings...gave up only one earned run in four and a third innings against Northwestern, but took the loss, 7-1, on Feb. 26...struck out 11 batters in eight innings, but lost to Holy Cross, 2-1, on March 26...struck out nine more batters and allowed just two runs in eight innings, picking up his first win of the year, 8-2 over Hartford April 1...defeated Hartford for the second time in a week, recording eight punchouts in 14-4 win April 9...notched third consecutive victory, going eight and two-thirds innings, striking out nine and yielding just one run in a 3-2 victory over Albany April 16...earned the win after beating Vermont, 3-2, tossing seven and a third innings and fanning nine batters...won his fifth consecutive start in a 5-1 decision over UMBC...he struck out 10 batters in the victory...struck out eight more batters and allowed just one run on one hit and received a no-decision in 2-1 victory over Binghamton May 8...beat Maine, 5-2, on May 17 with a complete game 12-strikeout performance...dismantled Stony Brook, yielding just one hit in seven innings and striking out 11 in 5-0 win May 20...named America East Pitcher of the Week on May 23....earned a win in the America East Tournament on May 26 after besting Binghamton 7-3, tossing seven and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs.
2004: Went 1-4 and tallied a 3.25 ERA and 64 strikeouts in 63-2/3 innings in his first season at Northeastern University...two of his losses were by scores of 1-0; the other two came in relief outings...pitched a stellar debut for the Huskies, going eight innings with 11 punchouts, but took the loss as NU was beaten, 1-0, by St. Anselm March 1...pitched a scoreless inning against the Red Sox March 5...earned the win, allowing a run in seven innings against Indiana-Purdue on March 6...allowed a run in 2-1/3 innings of relief against NC State March 14...pitched a seven-inning complete game and struck out nine batters against Hartford but took the loss as NU was defeated, 1-0, April 4...allowed one earned run over four innings while striking out four as NU beat UMass, 4-3, in the first round of the Beanpot April 20...pitched three shutout innings and struck out three batters as NU beat Central Connecticut May 11...pitched 2-1/3 scoreless innings at Connecticut May 19...pitched 5-1/3 innings as NU lost to Albany 8-1 in the final game of the season, giving up four runs (two earned).
High School: Played pitcher and shortstop for four years…team captain as a senior…selected by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the 30th round of the 2003 MLB Amateur Draft…averaged 17 strikeouts per game over his junior and senior year…threw eight one-hitters…once struck out 54 batters over a three-game stretch…named All-State and All-City…named team MVP his junior and senior years…led Berkeley Carroll to the private school state tourney all four years.
