Stats of the Game: 2018 Beanpot championship

TEAM
• This is Northeastern's first Beanpot title since February 8, 1988. 

• The Huskies shutout Boston College in the semifinal game, before going on to defeat Boston University in the title game, matching the 1988 Beanpot. 

• The Huskies' now have five Beanpot titles overall, with four of those championships coming against Boston University. 

• The Huskies snapped the Terriers' nine-game unbeaten streak.

• With this win, NU has defeated BU three times in a single season for the first time since 2010-11. 

• The trio of Nolan Stevens, Adam Gaudette and Dylan Sikura have all recorded at least one point in ten different games this season.

• In Gaudette and Stevens, Northeastern has at least 20-goal scorers for the second-straight season.  


INDIVIDUAL

• Upon scoring Northeastern's second goal, Nolan Stevens extended his goal (and point) streak to four consecutive games. The goal marked Stevens' ninth career Beanpot point (third goal).

• Gaudette and Stevens are second and third, respectively, for the most power-play goals in the NCAA this season, Gaudette with 10 and Stevens with nine . Omaha's David Pope leads the nation with 12 power-play goals.

• Gaudette was named the Beanpot MVP. He is only the sixth Husky to recieve this honor. 

• Gaudette's hat trick in the Beanpot final is the first since Kevin Roy in 2013. With four goals and two assists, he earned six points during the 2018 Beanpot, the most since Graig Mischler in 2002.  

• Trevor Owens is the first Northeastern defenseman to score a Beanpot goal since Dustin Darou, who scored the Huskies' third goal during the 2015 championship against Boston University before the game had progressed to overtime.

• Owens' goal marked the senior's second goal of the season and sixth of his collegiate career. His last goal took place on Dec. 9, 2017, during the Huskies' 5-2 win at No. 14 Boston College.

• Cayden Primeau upped his career-best saves, with 38 against Boston University. He secured 75 saves and a .974 save percentage in his first Beanpot Tournament. 

• Primeau was awarded the Eberly Award, becoming the second-straight freshman to be given the honor and the first Husky since Chris Rawlings in 2011.
