Huskies continue annual work at Journey Forward
Owen Batchelder, Tyler Brown, Henry Ennen, Scott Holzwasser, Sam Jacobsak, Kyle Murphy, and Northeastern baseball alum James Mulry volunteered at Journey Forward’s fall charity event, where they helped support those with spinal cord injuries and disabilities. This year marks the Huskies’ fourth consecutive during which Northeastern has been involved with Journey Forward as part of its 19 Ways initiative.
Journey Forward is a nonprofit organization based in Canton, Massachusetts, that assists its patients through an exercise-based rehabilitation program, helping them achieve the most basic of lifelong functions and benefits. To learn more, please visit journey-forward.org.

Northeastern completes Walk to End Alzheimer's
On Sept. 22, Tyler Brown, Brandon Dufault, Andrew Misiaszek, David Stiehl, and Northeastern baseball alum Cam Hanley headed to Patriot Place in Foxborough, Massachusetts, where the Huskies participated in the 2018 Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The group completed the two-mile walking course alongside more than 1,000 participants, helping the event raise more than $410,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association.

Huskies volunteer at 28th Annual Rodman Ride for Kids
With their teammates at Patriots Place for the 2018 Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Sean Mellen, Kyle Murphy, Kyle Peterson, Brian Rodriguez, and Josh Winkler volunteered at the 28th Annual Rodman Ride for Kids in Boston. The Huskies helped the non-competitive cycling event succeed in its mission to support at-risk kids by matching donations to youth-focused charities and social-service organizations.
Rodman for Kids is the nation’s top single-day athletic fundraiser that supports the enrichment of at-risk kids and encourages children to live healthy, social lives. To learn more, please visit rodmanforkids.org.

NU, Liam wear Halloween costumes for Miles for Liam 5K Walk/Run
In support of their Team Impact match, Liam, the Northeastern baseball team dressed in its Halloween costumes and headed to Norwood, Massachusetts, on Oct. 27 to participate in the ninth annual Miles for Liam 5K Walk/Run, as hosted by Liam’s L.E.E.P. Although inclement weather ended up canceling the race, the Huskies still joined Liam (dressed as Captain America) inside during the event’s reception.
All proceeds from the Miles for Liam 5K Walk/Run go to support Liam’s L.E.E.P., which assists families of children living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) - the most common genetic disorder that affects muscle development, mainly in boys, like Liam. To learn more, please click here. |

Northeastern holds fourth annual canned food drive for Rosie's Place
Furthering its connection with Rosie’s Place, the Northeastern baseball team held its fourth annual canned food drive in support of the women’s shelter, located in Boston. Together with their families, the Huskies were able to make a generous donation to the shelter on Oct. 27.
Founded in 1974, Rosie’s Place was the first established women’s shelter in the United States and operates today with the mission to provide a safe and nurturing environment to all women, especially to those who are poor and homeless. To learn more, please visit rosiesplace.org. |

Led by senior captain Jake Farrell, the Northeastern baseball team continued its partnership with You’re With Us! and its team match, EJ, for the third consecutive season.

Huskies teach baseball to Northeastern international students
For the second straight year, the Huskies partnered with the Northeastern Office of Global Services to help introduce the game of baseball to a group of Northeastern’s international students. Rick Burroni, Jake Farrell, Sean Mellen and Kyle Peterson were on hand to teach the game’s fundamentals and walk their guests through drills and tactics at each position.

NU shaves Movember beards, heads for pancreatic cancer research
Together with Pinnacle Health & Sports Performance, members of the Northeastern baseball team grew out their beards and hair while participating in Movember – an annual initiative that promotes men’s health awareness. On Nov. 29, the Huskies gathered to shave their heads prior to making a team donation to men’s pancreatic cancer research.

Ennen leads Huskies' third annual Share the Warmth coat drive
With sophomore pitcher Henry Ennen taking the lead, the Northeastern baseball team conducted its third annual Share the Warmth coat drive, helping gather winter clothing to be distributed to Boston’s homeless.
The Huskies succeeded in donating bagfuls of winter coats, hats, boots and gloves to the Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program (BHCHP), which strives to provide the highest quality of health care for all homeless individuals and families in the greater Boston area. Burroni, Geaslen collect spare clothes, sneakers for Red Cross
Keeping others in mind, Northeastern’s Rick Burroni and Michael Geaslen gathered their spare clothes and sneakers for a donation to the American Red Cross of Massachusetts, which has collection bins located adjacent to the Back Bay rail station in Boston.
Led by volunteers, the American Red Cross of Massachusetts is a humanitarian organization that provides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. |

Baseball Beanpot programs raise $10,900 for Pete Frates #3 Fund
As the 30th annual Baseball Beanpot concluded at Fenway Park on April 17, the Northeastern baseball team joined its tournament rivals Boston College, Harvard and Massachusetts in collectively raising $10,900 for the Pete Frates #3 Fund, which supports ALS awareness, assistance and research towards finding the cure.
Pete Frates – the former BC outfielder and captain – was diagnosed with ALS in March 2012 at the age of 27, but has since taken an active role in raising ALS awareness. He has started the Ice Bucket Challenge, the #StrikeOutALS movement and Team Frate Train in addition to founding the Pete Frates #3 Fund. To learn more, please visit petefrates.com. |

Huskies host their annual Military Appreciation Game
An annual occasion, the Northeastern baseball team proudly hosted its Military Appreciation Game at Friedman Diamond on May 11. Prior to the game, the Huskies welcomed Northeastern University’s Liberty Battalion Army ROTC color guard, which formally presented the U.S. flag for the national anthem. Midway through the game, Northeastern asked the veterans and active service members in attendance to stand and be recognized by the Friedman Diamond faithful for their dedication to protecting our nation’s freedom. |

NU rookies serve breakfast to New England veterans
Prior to competing in the final home game of the regular season (May 12), five first-year members of the Northeastern baseball team rose early to visit the New England Center and Home for Veterans in Boston. There, Danny Crossen, Jared Dupere, Owen Langan, John Scheffey and Spenser Smith served breakfast to the veterans in residence, many of whom are facing or are at-risk of homelessness.
