Biography

2010: Made 34 starts out of 38 games played, going 30-for-122 (.246) with six doubles, a home runs and 16 RBI...drove in the Huskies' only run with a single in a 2-1 loss to Delaware (May 23)...went 2-for-3 with a double as NU won, 4-2, over Rhode Island (May 19)...singled and scored as the Huskies topped Georgia State, 9-7 (May 15)...hit a clutch ninth-inning double in NU's comeback win over UNC Wilmington (April 24)...walloped his first home run of the season in the Huskies' 8-5 win over UMass in round one of the Beanpot (April 14)...went 3-4 with three runs scored in NU's 13-12 loss to Harvard (april 13)...batted 2-4 in the Huskies' 9-4 loss at VCU (March 28)...went 3-4 with a run and an RBI in NU's 5-4 loss at VCU (March 27)...batted 2-3 in the Huskies' 7-4 win over Bryant (March 20)...chipped in two hits and three RBI in the Huskies' 11-5 win over Davenport (Feb. 26).

2009: Stokes finished the season making 48 starts and playing in 50 games for the Huskies with a .299 batting average and a on-base percentage of .340...went 3-for-5 in the Huskies victory over Towson on May 15...went 2-for-4 with a home run against George Mason on May 2...had two RBI in the Hskies victory over VCU on April 26...had two hits, three runs, one RBI and a home run against Harvard on April 7...hit his second home run of the season in the Huskies March 27 rout of Hofstra 14-3...went 2-for-3 including a single to lead off the final inning in the Huskies 2-1 walk-off win against Central Michigan March 6...scored the go-ahead run March 5 against Duquesne...hit the first Huskies home-run of the season, a two run shot in the Huskies 10-9 win over Duquesne March 2.


2008:
Came on strong in the end of the season, batting .412 (7-for-17) in six games played in the month of May to finish the year at an even .300 in 40 at-bats for the Huskies...had two doubles, one homer, two RBI and seven runs scored, as well as a .404 on-base percentage on the season...in his first start of the season, went 1-3 with a run scored in the Huskies' 8-6 win at URI March 25...went 2-for-4 with a double, homer and two runs scored in NU's 8-7 setback vs. Boston College April 1...finished 2-for-4 in the Huskies' 11-inning, 3-3 tie vs. UNC Wilmington April 6...went 2-5 with a run scored in NU's 6-3 win at Boston College May 11...went 2-for-3 in game one of a doubleheader vs. URI May 13...combined to go 3-7 with an RBI and a run scored in the Huskies' final weekend series of the season vs. James Madison May 15-17.

2007: Appeared in 23 games for the Huskies in his rookie season, starting 15...finished the year with a .216 average, one homer, five doubles and six RBI...posted a .355 on-base percentage...smacked a solo homer to cap off NU’s seven-run seventh inning in the second game of a doubleheader against Indiana-Purdue March 3...went 3-6 with a double, RBI and four runs scored in NU’s doubleheader sweep at Towson March 24...went 2-for-4 with an RBI-double and a run scored vs. Towson March 25...smacked a pinch-hit, RBI double vs. Georgia State April 21...hit a pinch-hit, RBI double that tied up the game at three at Harvard May 1.

2006: Redshirt season.

High School: Played varsity baseball and hockey for one season at Tewksbury High School and three at the Middlesex School...named All-League during his senior season...named an AAU All-American in 2000 while playing for Lightning Baseball of New England...also participated in the Bay State Games in 2003.

Personal: Born Sept. 29, 1986...grandfather, Ronald Red Sliney, was a three-sport athlete at Holy Cross...majoring in Psychology...hopes to either play baseball professionally or work in sports psychology...enjoys playing hockey and working out...Class of 2010.
