Northeastern Huskies

Chris Bosco

Chris Bosco returned for his first season back with the Huskies after one season at Dartmouth College... the 2025 season was his fifth season with the Northeastern Basbeall program, serving as the volunteer assistant coach from 2019 to 2022. During his prior tenure at Northeastern, he was responsible for managing the Huskies’ outfielders and hitters in addition to assisting the coaching staff with all day-to-day aspects of the baseball program. His new role as full-time assistant coach will see him working with the team's offense, with an emphasis on base running, and training up the team's core of catchers.

Bosco's rigorous work with the team's base running strategies helped the Huskies steal a program-record 196 bases in 2025, good for second in the nation, as center fielder Cam Maldonado set a new program record with his 81st steal against Monmouth on April 27th. Maldonado finished the 2025 season with 87 career bags, surpassing the previous record of 80 set by Scott Holzwasser. Fellow outfield speedster Harrison Feinberg tied the program record for single-season steals, grabbing 37 bags on just 41 attempts. Northeastern's offense under Bosco and Frank Holbrook set 17 single-season program records across their two years as a tandem (2024 and 2025).

Upon Bosco's return to the coaching staff in 2024, the Northeastern offense reached new heights setting 14 new offensive program records, including the most runs (474) and steals (163) in a season. The Huskies led the conference in several offensive categories including batting average, hits, and on-base percentage at the end of the regular season, holding the 24th-highest batting average (.310) and 7th-highest on-base percentage (.427) in the country. The Huskies' 163 stolen bases ranked as the second-highest in the NCAA in 2024 led by Cam Maldonado with 29. Individually, catcher Gregory Bozzo earned his first career All-Conference nod ahead of the 2024 postseason, posting career numbers at the plate, putting him on the All-CAA second team.

After his third season with Northeastern in 2022, Bosco took a full-time position with the Dartmouth Big Green for the 2023 season - Bosco coached two All-Ivy honorable mention hitters, including a member of his outfielder group.

Bosco's outfielders saw great success in the CAA Championship run of 2021 - Along with the title, the Huskies claimed the CAA Player of the Year title as outfielder Jared Dupere finished as the conference's top player. Dupere finished the season starting in all 48 contests with a .343 batting average, 21 homers and 50 RBIs. Dupere went on to be named an ABCA/Rawlings All-East First Team member and was drafted by the San Fransisco Giants in the 2021 draft. Bosco also helped devlop two draft picks in that season, with outfielder Ben Malgeri, the ninth-inning hero of the 2021 Championship game, being taken by the Detroit Tigers.

Receiving his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Roger Williams University in 2019, Bosco joins the staff at Northeastern after completing his four-year student-athlete career as the Hawks' starting catcher. Captaining the baseball team through the 2018 and 2019 campaigns, he was regarded as one of the best defensive catchers in the nation, helping Roger Williams advance to the 2019 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) championship round.

As the Hawks’ lead backstop, Bosco threw out 47 percent of runners stealing against him during his career, twice leading the nation in runners caught stealing percentage. Offensively, his career numbers ranked among the top 10 all-time in a series of statistical categories, including hits, runs, total bases and stolen bases.

Bosco was a three-time all-conference selection at Roger Williams, pairing 2019 CCC Defensive Player of the Year recognition with All-CCC First Team honors. He was also chosen to the 2017 ABCA/Rawlings New England All-Region Team and was named the 2019 recipient of the Sharon Castelli Award, presented to the Roger Williams student-athlete who best exemplifies the qualities of dedication, leadership and sportsmanship.

Following his collegiate career, Bosco signed a professional contract to compete in the independent CanAm League. He began the 2019 season as a catcher and utility player with the Ottawa Champions before finishing the season with the Santa Fe Fuego of the Pecos League.

Bosco is a native of North Andover, Massachusetts.
