Will Butts was appointed Assistant Director of Player Development ahead of the 2026 season, beginning his first year in a full-time player development role with the Huskies. Butts is an alum of Franklin College, where he played four seasons for the Grizzlies and completed his collegiate career in 2025. Butts appeared in 23 games in 2025, contributing 27 strikeouts and posting a 4.75 ERA while anchoring the pitching staff as a senior. Over his three-year college career, he logged a total of 48 appearances with 58 strikeouts and posted a 6.66 ERA, demonstrating durability and competitiveness out of the bullpen.

Butts’s collegiate experience included multiple relief appearances where he provided key outs and occasional saves, reflecting his ability to perform under pressure. His recent playing experience gives him a current perspective on player needs, training nuances, and the transition from collegiate competition to advanced performance environments.
