Colin Clarke, born in Northern Ireland, enters his third season with the Northeastern field hockey program. Clarke joins Northeastern from Nottingham Trent University in England, where he worked as the head of field hockey since 2015.

"From his international coaching and playing experience to his passion for the game, his knowledge and skill is unmatched. He continually brings success to each program he is a part of, and I am certain he will help bring that to our program as well. I look forward to working alongside Colin and helping our student-athletes reach greater heights on and off the field."
In his first season with the Huskies, he helped lead the team to an 8-10 overall record, going 3-3 in CAA play.

After joining in 2015, Clarke transformed the NTU field hockey program from outside of the top 20 to the No. 1 ranked program within five years. Clarke led NTU to the BUCS Men's Championship in 2020 for the first time in the program's history.

While at NTU, he was the Great Britain U21 Women's head coach and worked with Great Britain, Irish and USA Senior International players daily, who are now playing at the professional level.

In August of 2016, Clarke took over the Beeston Ladies head coaching job and led the squad from conference level to national premier level. He coached the club to their first National Senior title by winning the EH Championships in 2020.

He took over as the Grange men's head coach in September of 2011, leading the team to a national championship, three Scottish National Cups and a European trophy.

Clarke had success as England U21 Women’s Head Coach who won bronze at European Championships in 2017. He once again found success as the assistant coach for Great Britain U21 men’s team in the Sultan of Johor tournament in Malaysia.

Clarke began his coaching career as an assistant coach with the Scotland Senior Women's team in April 2011. He was involved in two European Championships and Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

From 2006-2009, Clarke played for the Scotland Senior Men's National Squad.
