Before Northeastern: Was a four-year letterwinner at the Breck School, helping the program to the MSHSL AA State championship and a third place finish in 2025. He scored 1000 points during his career and was named the IMAC Player of the Year as a senior in 2024-25. Newton also earned MSHSL All-State Tournament Team honors in both 2024 and 2025, and was named IMAC All-Conference Honorable during both seasons after helping Breck School to a pair of conference championships. Newton was named CCX Sports All-Area Boys Basketball during 2024-25. His father played basketball at Kansas, helping the Jayhawks to the 1988 national championship before playing professionally overseas, while his sister recently completed her collegiate swimming career at Lafayette. He intends to major in Business at Northeastern.
