2019-20: Was injured after four games and did not return ... Tallied a season-high 18 points and five rebounds at UMass (11/12) in his second to last game of the season ... Went 9-for-12 from the floor ... Averaged 9.3 points and 2.8 rebounds per game for the season ... Shot 71 percent (17-for-24) from the floor ... Injured his ankle after the Old Dominion game and missed the remainder of the season.
2018-19: Shot 46 percent from 3-point range (13-for-28)
... Scored 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field, two rebounds, a couple assists, and a block in the CAA Championship win over Hofstra (3/12) … Tied his career best in points with 21, and secured his second double-double of the year with 12 rebounds in 37 minutes in a win over Towson (2/23) … Ended the game at Syracuse (12/4) with 17 points and eight rebounds on 7-of-10 shooting ... Finished with a season-high tying 12 points, including a 5-for-6 day from the field against No. 16 Virginia Tech (11/16) ... Put up his first career double-double against Bucknell (11/28) with a career-best 21 points and 12 rebounds.
2017-18: Finished his rookie season on Huntington Ave. playing in all 33 games on the year while registering 6.6 ppg, 2.4 rpg, and shooting 56.8 percent from the field ... Made collegiate debut in season opener at Boston University where he led the team in scoring with 15 points and six rebounds (Nov. 10) … Was perfect in six attempts from the field while grabbing three rebounds to close out his second double-digit scoring game against Kent State (Dec. 18) ... Added 10 points against Charleston (1/11) ... Erupted to lead the team with 17 points, his new career-high, during win over UNCW (1/13) ... Dropped 16 points on 7-for-10 shooting and tallied an assist against Drexel (Jan. 27) ... Put up a career-high 21 points against UNCW, including eight in OT (Feb. 3) ... Dropped nine points and had a steal and an assist against William & Mary (Feb. 17) ... Recorded 11 points while adding four rebounds in CAA semifinal action against UNCW (March 5).
Before NU: Rated a four-star recruit by ESPN a three-star recruit by Scout and a three-star recruit by Rivals … a three-year letterwinner at Northeastern Mount Hermon School … started his high school career at Prout School where he averaged 18 ppg and 10 rpg in his freshman season … Helped his school to a school record 30 wins behind 10 ppg and 5 rpg in his senior season at NMH where the Hoggers made an appearance in the National Championship game … Named NEPSAC AAA Honorable Mention in his senior season as well as the Hoophall Classic Single Game MVP in a victory over Suffield Academy (Conn.) … Won the NEPSAC AAA Championship in his junior season, one of the best prep school leagues in the country.
Personal: Son of Jay and Paivi Murphy and brother to Erik and Alex … Father, Jay, played basketball at Boston College from 1980-84 and went on to a four-year NBA career playing two seasons each with the LA Clippers and Washington Bullets before furthering his professional career in Italy and France … Mother, Paivi, a native of Finland, played basketball professionally in Sweden … Brothers Erik and Alex both played Division I basketball … Erik played four years at the University of Florida before he was drafted 49
th overall by the Chicago Bulls in the 2013 NBA Draft and now plays professionally in France, while Alex played at both Duke (2012-14) and Florida (2014-16) before finishing his collegiate career at Northeastern (2016-17) … Enjoys fishing and going to the beach in the summer … He and his high school roommate had a radio show called Roommates on the Radio … Chose Northeastern over Georgia, Maryland and Florida as well as six other DI universities … Will earn his degree in psychology in May 2020 … Would like to pursue a career in professional basketball.
