Madigan on Pecararo: Liam is a young man who is highly skilled, and someone who I saw play as an 18-year old from Waterloo (USHL) with some high end players. He is someone who thinks the game very well, is a very intelligent player on the ice with a great stick and great ability to be elusive. He’s a top-six forward, and he’s going to come in and contribute right away offensively to our club. He’s a guy who likes to create through his playmaking ability but he can also shoot a puck, and we are going to have to get him to be a little more selfish around the net. He’s a local boy from Canton, Mass., and he played with Adam Gaudette, Lincoln Griffin and Ryan Shea before, so he knows the Northeastern landscape. His uncle was a goaltender when I coached here before, his grandparents attended Northeastern, and his mother played on our women’s ice hockey team, so there are a lot of connections between Northeastern and the Pecararo family. We are thrilled to welcome not just Liam, but the whole family back to Northeastern.
