Keturah Jackson

Keturah Jackson completed her second season as an assistant coach of the Northeastern women’s basketball team in 2022-23, having joined the Huskies’ staff in June 2021. A four-year teammate of Bridgette Mitchell's at Duke (2006-10), Jackson brings a wealth of high school coaching experience with her from Virginia and South Carolina.

In her second season on Mitchell's staff, the Huskies had a historic run. The team was picked to finish eighth in the CAA preseason poll, and finished tied for first in the conference with a program-record 13 wins in CAA play, earning the program's first-ever CAA regular season title. The Huskies won nine straight games down the stretch of the season, highlighted by victories against Drexel on their home court, marking the first home loss for the Dragons during the season. Northeastern took down six-seed Stony Brook in the quarterfinals, and made the CAA semifinals for just the third time in program history.

In her first season on Mitchell’s staff, Northeastern tallied a six-place finish in CAA play after being picked last to start the year. The Huskies tallied a dominant 71-45 victory over Holy Cross in the team’s season opener, and kept the momentum through the rest of the season. The Huskies opened up conference play at 5-2, which marked the first time in program history. Northeastern entered the CAA Tournament as the six-seed, and gave third-seeded Towson all it can handle in a 59-49 defeat. The Huskies earned a postseason berth into the WBI Tournament for the second time in program history to close the season.

Prior to Northeastern, Jackson served as the special assistant for the Duke women's program, routinely created scouting reports for the program and prepped the team's film reviews. She also conducted team-building activities.

From 2016 to 2019, Jackson was the award-winning girls' basketball head coach at Lower Richland High School (South Carolina), garnering three Region V 4A Coach of the Year awards. Under her direction, the Hornets won three Region V 4A championships, advanced to the 2016-17 state semifinals and produced four NCAA Division I basketball scholarship players.

Prior to her success at Lower Richland, Jackson spent three seasons as the girls' basketball head coach at White Knoll High School (South Carolina), guiding the Timberwolves to their first playoff appearance and first postseason victory. She has also held high school assistantships at C.A Johnson (South Carolina) and Chantilly (Virginia), where she primarily handled scouting, game preparation and the development of both programs' guards.

Jackson's leadership extends well beyond the basketball court and into the community. Among the notable positions she has held, she has served as the School Improvement Council Vice Chair at Lower Richland, taught at Nike Basketball Camps & Clinics, been a board member on the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association (SCBCA) and been a contributor at the White Knoll Leadership Group.

As a student-athlete, Jackson co-led the defensive effort for Duke during its 2009-10 season that witnessed the Blue Devils post 32 wins and advance to the Elite Eight. Her 83 steals during the program's run rank today as the sixth most during a single Duke season, helping earn her ACC All-Defensive Team honors.

Jackson graduated from Duke in 2009 with her bachelor's degree in sociology.
