Before Northeastern: Thomson joined Northeastern from Colgate as a graduate transfer, where he played 115 games over four seasons for the Raiders. As a senior in 2023-24, he played in 33 games averaging a career-best 4.5 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. He posted four double-digit scoring performances and led the team in rebounding three times, highlighted by a season-high 11 points in final game of his Colgate career against Baylor in NCAA tournament. Before Colgate, Thomson garnered back-to-back Independent School League (ISL) First Team honors after leading Brooks School to a pair of championships in 2019 and 2020.
