Chaisson Allen has been named the Northeastern Student-Athlete of the Week after making an incredible halfcourt buzzer-beating shot to defeat Wright State last Saturday at Matthews Arena.

It was a back-and-forth affair between the Huskies and Raiders. Wright State had a one-point lead late, but Allen made one of two free throws to tie the game. The Raiders went for the win, but Vaughn Duggins missed a jumper that hit the front of the rim and went to Allen with four seconds left. Allen then looked at the clock, dribbled up court and took his shot, which swished through the net.

Allen was mobbed on the court by teammates and fans.

It was an all-around great game for the junior guard, who had a game-high 21 points to go with eight rebounds and six assists.

Through five games, the Murfreesboro, Tenn., native is averaging 13.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists.

Allen and the Huskies travel to Drexel Saturday for their first CAA game of the season.
